Code of Ethics Training & Orientation

There are two mandatory training requirements for new REALTOR® Members shutterstock 265116527
of the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association and the Florida Gulf Coast MLS.

All new members are required to complete:

  1. A New Member Code of Ethics/Orientation within 90 days of joining the Association

  1. A MLS Orientation within 90 days of joining the Association.

Both must be completed in order to use the REALTOR® Logos and Trademark.

The completion of the following satisfies the Orientation requirements: Attend a one day New Member Orientation session, which is offered monthly at one of the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association's 3 locations. This class includes the 3 hours of Code of Ethics education which satisfies the NAR quadrennial Code of Ethics requirements (It does not count towards continuing education CE);
Attend a mandatory two hour MLS Orientation which is also offered monthly at our Education Center.

Note: If you are currently an active member of another REALTOR® Association or have held membership in the past 12 months with the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association and/or the Florida Gulf Coast MLS, and you have already attended a New Member Orientation course, then you may not need to attend the New Member Code of Ethics/Orientation course again.

You must submit proof of your New Member Orientation completion from your previous or current REALTOR® Association and you must be in compliance with the NAR Quadrennial Code of Ethics in order to bypass attendance at this training session. REALTOR® Trademark

As one of the strongest and most recognized brands in the world, it is important to use the REALTOR® brand properly to ensure maximum value with the public. It’s a key differentiator since only members are authorized to use the term REALTOR® or the REALTOR® logo in connection with their real estate business. So, to protect it, we need to make sure that “REALTOR®” continues to mean a member of NAR and not just any real estate agent. To easily communicate this issue, the three-minute Make Our Marks Remarkable video is on the enclosed DVD and the On Your Mark brochure is available for purchase at the REALTOR® Store.

Member Center

Member Center

The Member Center website and apps communicate the many benefits you receive from all three levels of your REALTOR® Association, helping you maximize your membership.

As you probably know, soon there will be thousands of new domains in addition to the familiar ones like .com, .org and .net. This is why it’s critical that REALTORS® make a namespace on the Internet and why NAR has secured the domain .REALTOR. Like the term REALTOR®, the .REALTOR domain is only available to members and communicates their status as a REALTOR®—the trusted source for real estate online.NAR-1231 DotRealtor Banner Stoplight 468x60 0

Knowledge. Awareness. Empowerment. These are the core components of REALTOR® Safety. And helping our members understand the risks they face can mean the difference between life and death. Keep safety top-of mind every day. NAR has developed REALTOR® Safety materials for use throughout year, including safety webinars presented by industry experts, tips, videos, banner ads, a widget and more. Many of the materials provided are designed for brokerage offices to develop their own safety strategies.Safety 2015 468x60 V2.jpg.jpeg

Orientation Policy

Doors will open promptly at 8:30am. Please be aware that sign in will take place between 8:30am till 8:45am. Class will begin promptly at 9:00am and will end at 4:00pm.

If you arrive after 9:15am it will be necessary for you to attend the next Orientation class in order to complete the NAR requirements to become a member. The National Association of REALTORS® has mandated 3 hours of Code of Ethics training. Please allow yourself enough time to arrive by 8:45am so that you do not miss this required section.

Orientation is mandatory. Dress code is business attire so please bring a sweater or jacket with you as our Education Center is kept at cool temperature. Also, there is a strict policy enforced that no electronics are to be used during Orientation.

Once you have attended the orientation and have been inducted, you are entitled to use the designation REALTOR® which identifies you as a Real Estate Professional. If for some reason you cannot attend orientation within two scheduled orientations your current application will become null and void and all services will be terminated. Should this occur your only option will be to reapply for membership. All monies previously paid will be forfeited. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions to this policy. If you must cancel we must receive notification at our office by 5:00pm the Friday prior to the scheduled orientation date.

Due to the amount of no-shows, the Board of Directors has instituted a new policy. The new policy states: If you do not cancel and you do not show up for orientation there will be a $100 cancellation fee.
